The Chalet Bed and Breakfast is situated on the edge of Shaftesbury – a 5 minute walk from the town centre, which is an ancient picturesque Saxon Hilltop town. It stands just over 700 feet above sea level and has stunning views over 3 counties – Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. Shaftesbury is famous for its Gold Hill which was featured in the unforgettable 1980’s Hovis advert, directed by Ridley Scott. Among many of the towns attractions are the ruins of Shaftesbury Abbey built in 888ad which was demolished by command of Henry VIII.

There is a wide variety of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, cafes to enjoy in one of the friendliest towns in the area.
Shaftesbury, situated on the intersection of the A30 and the A350 is the “Gateway to the South West” from which you can tour the area from Stonehenge in the east, Salisbury to the West, Bath and Bristol to the North and the Jurassic Coast in the South.
